A highlight at the REMAX Australia Annual Awards gala, held at The Star Brisbane on 19th February, came midway through the evening when auctioneer Dene Tucker took to the stage to kick off the network’s annual charity auction.
REMAX Australia raised an impressive $20,300 for the network’s charity partner, Make-A-Wish® Australia, through a live auction that lifted the room’s energy to a whole new level.
“Tonight, we have the opportunity to make a real difference by raising much-needed funds for a wonderful cause,” Mr Tucker said, as he opened the auction.
“These funds will support 11-year-old Grace, who was diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Grace’s wish is to have an exciting snow dog sledding adventure with her family. Your generosity and support at tonight’s auction will help make Grace’s dream come true and provide vital support for children like her.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s grant some wishes!”
The auction opened with a sought-after REA Lux Listing package, valued at more than $3,000, with the winning bid going to REMAX Property Centre’s Danny Woolbank. Kindy donated by co-event partner, realestate.com.au, the Luxe listing package included premium listing placement and exclusive features.
The second item of the night drew strong competition from bidders – an Oscar Hunt Tailor Package valued at $1,800, which included a personalised fitting for a bespoke jacket and premium shirt. REMAX Victory’s Vicki Ford taking home this impressive auction item.
The final item of the night was the hotly contested Hot Air Balloon flight, valued at $3,400. Always a popular inclusion at past awards galas, this year was no exception. The package included 10 tickets for a breathtaking flight in the REMAX-branded hot air balloon over the Gold Coast, followed by a champagne breakfast. Bids flowed from across the room before the gavel finally fell on the winning bid from Niket Kalra of REMAX Signature.
In 2026, REMAX Australia celebrates 12 years of partnership with Make-A-Wish® Australia and, since 2012, has donated more than $370,000 to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
