RMX23 GIVES NETWORK WAY FORWARD

RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren set the tone as he welcomed the real estate network to RMX23, the multiday conference held at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast

, saying the program incorporating mindset coach, futurist and real estate technicians reflected market conditions that had an unusual level of intensity.

He said there was still a bit to ride out in the real estate landscape and challenged the network members to look after the basics of health, relationships and career.

“Look after yourselves, acknowledge the fragility out there but find time for gratitude and joy, and ultimately, the market will always be good for good operators.”

Day one highlight speaker was Australian big wave surfer, author and ocean adventurer Mark Visser.

On the 20th of January 2011, Mark made history by achieving a night ride on 30-40ft waves at the infamous Jaws break in Maui. Known globally as ‘Night Rider’, this was the start point for ‘Nine Lives’, an adventure documentary he is currently working on.

Tim Lawless, Executive Research Director with CoreLogic, gave a National Market Update.

Top-performing sales agents Melita Bell, Leanne Druery and Tristan Brown held the stage for Sales MAX Talks where they shared their real estate industry experiences and insights to inspire and empower their peers in their careers.

Cyndi Ward, Nicole Kemp and Simon Withers took the floor as three accomplished property management professionals from the network and, with their vast knowledge and expertise, gave much for peers to implement in Property Management MAX Talks.

The breakout sessions continued in the afternoon with Jenna Pollard, Brett White and Tamara Hall championing a range of topics from effective prospecting to optimising your pipeline and maximising business opportunities.

Cathie Crampton, a property management consultant, business owner of Crampton Property Management, coach and trainer led the corresponding session. Her experience of more than 20 years in both national and international markets have endowed her with a keen eye for fundamentals, a knack for driving profitability, and a deep understanding of the challenges in the industry.

Completing the speaker program was social researcher and best-selling author, Michael McQueen, who along with recognition for helping some of the world’s most successful brands navigate disruption and maintain momentum., is a familiar face on the international conference circuit where he’s shared the stage with the likes of Bill Gates, Dr. John Maxwell and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Keeping the conference proceedings dynamic and information-fuelled was Master of Ceremonies, Caroline Bolderston, a transformative coach, trainer and speaker who has dedicated the past seven years to developing sales performance and business efficiency within the real estate industry.

“A good percentage of our top agents have had a better first six months than the year before, despite low stock and interest rate concerns,” said Mr Davoren, “and we are still on track to see 20 plus Diamond writers generating more than $1 million each in commissions, including some Double and Triple Diamonds.

“Great operators are doing great things,” he said.

WHAT THEY SAID – ATTENDEE TAKEAWAYS:

“It was an exceptional event, the best one to date with a plenty to take away and implement in our business. RE/MAX Pitch & Sign, an elite proposal and signing platform powered by Realtair is absolutely brilliant, very clever and a definite to implement. RE/MAX Edge and the new signboards are other stand outs. And the talent within RE/MAX… all who presented, and the content, were truly superb. Melita Bell was outright inspiring.” Morris & Melissa Short, RE/MAX Xtra

“Mark Visser’s presentation on mindset and tenacity was massive, and really resonated with me. If you are going to do something, do it 100 per cent. There are no shortcuts. The variety in speakers provided lots of different takeaways and the program certainly showcased the internal talent within RE/MAX.” Kathy Sweeney, RE/MAX Living

“The diversity in presenters and topics meant everyone got something to take back to their business and implement. For me, RE/MAX Edge and digital marketing expert Baily Robinson on social media were it. Also, hearing Melita Bell talking speak about her team was perfect timing as we are restructuring our own team to be similar. We heard how well it works in practices. I very much enjoyed both Michael Mc Queen and Mark Visser as key presenters.” David Kopelke RE/MAX Now

“The common theme running through the RE/MAX people presenting was the huge standout – the importance of their clients… their genuine care for local communities – because that’s our own business ethos. These people have big, genuine hearts.” Nikita Kinane, RE/MAX Select

“RE/MAX Australia hosted a great event with some seriously amazing guest speakers. Personal highlights were hearing Leanne Druery’s story, an inspiration in hard work and success from such a humble person, and Brett White on connecting with people through dedicated phone prospecting as a team, being held accountable, and turning data into real connections. Tom Panos was a good wake up and kick into gear with practical prospecting methods after the Casino Cocktail Party (a seriously awesome night – thank you, Imagine Experiences!) and Michael McQueen was a super engaging way to wrap up the conference, sharing insights into ‘riding the tide instead of focusing on the wave’ when we look at technology, and ways to embrace and implement AI.” Emma Gumbleton, RE/MAX Regency

“My personal favourites were: ‘When facing fear, focus on the outcome to overcome it.’ ‘Follow through creates trust.’ ‘My future will be better than my past.’ ‘Ask questions, don’t make statements.’ ‘Make rejection my best friend. Don’t personalise it. I’m made of Teflon not Velcro.’ ‘Focus on the tide not the waves.’ I’ve taken these away to implement: We will always have a presence at the events that we sponsor and be recognised for giving back to our community. We will embrace the new signboard options. We know the value of digital price and market updates and will implement the practice. We will complete this year with intent, having fun and bringing joy to the end of 2023.” Melissa Chaddock, RE/MAX Hinterland
