RE/MAX Australia went online for the first time for its annual charity auction held as part of its annual awards gala and broke all previous fun-raising records.
The annual charity auction is a highlight on the night each year, raising money for the network’s partner charity, Make-A-Wish® Australia.
This year, the Annual Awards Online Auction raised an outstanding total of $30,365.00
The online auction kicked off at the start of RMX22, a two-day conference, with the final bidding stage for all online auction items commencing at 11pm on awards night. Highest bids were announced the following day.
One very special auction item would help young Amelia, born at 24 weeks in August 2015, get her wish to meet Mickey Mouse.
RE/MAX Australia Operations Director, Josh Davoren, introduced Amelia’s story to the conference crowd.
“Amelia was found to have three different medical conditions: chronic lung disease, a hole in her heart and pulmonary hypertension. While she is stable now, her family can’t know what the future holds and are taking life as it comes.
“Amelia’s mother says her love for Disney started when she was a baby, and from her first Mickey Mouse toy, everything had to be Mickey.
“Throughout her medical journey, Amelia has inspired her family with her resilience ad her infectious laugh. They say this wish will be etched into Amelia’s memory, and we are happy to be part of it.”
A record $23,000 was raised for Amelia’s wish to meet Mickey Mouse, with a heartfelt thank you extended to all who donated: Travis Gill, Darren Lewis-Date, Mark Wecker, Hayley Van de Ven, Wes Mcgregor, Justin Miller, Roxanne Workman, Adam Workman, Kathy Sweeney, Jenna Pollard, Nicole Kemp, Brittany Hunt, Eiles Hunt, Mark Coleman.
All bidders were generous with auction items and winners listed as follows:

“With the generosity of our members, we’re able to help make the wishes of children facing extremely challenging times, come true,” Mr Davoren said.
The online auction occurred with the assistance of RE/MAX Australia Preferred Offer Platform Partner, Openn Negotiation.
REMAX Australia has been donating to Make-A-Wish since 2012, to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, with RE/MAX offices individually and collectively working throughout the year toward raising an annual goal for the charity.
The 2022 RE/MAX Australia Annual Awards were held at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, on 24th February.
