PERTH PLAYS HOST TO RE/MAX BROKER OWNERS

More than 30 RE/MAX business owners from across Australia took the opportunity to join peers for the 2022 Broker Retreat at the Crown Metropol in Perth this month.

The three-day program offered an exciting speaker line-up and great opportunities to network with fellow RE/MAX brokers, proving the perfect environment to be inspired and re-energised to see out the year and prepare for 2023.

Gus Balbontin, Phil Harris and Marcele De Sanctis were the three keynote speakers with director addresses, workshops and a talk by Sean Aldomeit from Openn Negotiation, the event’s sponsor, rounding out the sessions on the program.

Gus Balbontin was born and bred in wild Patagonia, but never allowed his small town and humble beginnings get in the way of his big dreams. He landed in Australia at 17 and by 22 had dropped out of university, hitchhiked South America, set up his first business and landed his dream job at Lonely Planet. Fast forward a few more years and he was leading the company globally, working with corporations such as Google X, Nokia and Amazon on the latest technology, creative cultures and high performing teams.

“Gus loves sharing a story, his energy is infectious, and his lessons hit a chord as he delivered on the topic of adaptability, change and transformation,” said RE/MAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren. “He has a counterintuitive way of looking at the world that is incredibly motivating.”

South Australian Phil Harris, founder and managing director of Harris Real Estate, that state’s largest independent real estate agency and one of the fastest growing real estate agencies in Australia, spoke on scaling your business for growth.

“Since founding his business in 2010, Phil has come to be regarded as one of the most highly influential thought leaders of the Australian real estate industry.”

Dr. Marcele De Sanctis, co-founder of the Centre for Leadership Advantage (CLA) unpacked the leadership pipeline and the shifts of mindset and skills that are required across different levels of leadership.

“Marcele has a decade of experience working with global, ASX-listed, private and Government organisations, supporting Boards, CEOs and senior leaders and her team of organisational psychologists, scientist-practitioners, leadership specialists and thought leaders design evidence-based, research-supported solutions for their clients.

“We were very proud to bring key speakers of such calibre to our broker audience,” Mr Davoren said.
