One of RE/MAX Australia’s leading offices has changed ownership and name, with RE/MAX Results becoming RE/MAX Select and Hayley Van de Ven handing over to Nikita and Dan Kinnane.
Broker-owner Nikita Kinnane is well known and widely recognised as an experienced, talented real estate professional.
After seven years in high performing sales roles, Ms Kinnane moved into property sales mid-2020 and in just two years, had sold more than 42 Mackay properties valued over $14 million.
She joined the RE/MAX Results team about 12 months ago.
Broker-owner Dan Kinnane joined the real estate industry from a career in business and finance spanning two decades.
“Dan and I always planned to be in business together. I’m passionate about real estate sales, we’ve been property investors ourselves, and Dan brings business acumen and valuable skills including financial planning and risk management, superannuation, taxation, compliance and corporate governance to the table as a real estate business owner,” Ms Kinnane said.
“Once we realised the opportunity was for real – and the Results team was incredibly encouraging – it seemed a whirlwind of events once things got underway in our Christmas holidays.”
Ms Kinnane said all key players remain on the RE/MAX Select team.
“Stacey Arlott has been a total inspiration since my first day in this office when I recall her saying she had some work to do because she’d had nine contracts signed on the weekend,” she said.
“That blew me away completely!
“I’ve known Leanne Druery forever, our kids went to school together, and I’ve been fortunate to follow her career from success to greater success.
“Having Stacey, Leanne and others on the RE/MAX Select team is an incredible honour and we will be working with our legends before bringing any newcomers to the sales team.”
Plans for growth in property management include taking the current rent roll of around 250 to 500 within 18 months of ownership.
Ms Kinnane said this will entail growing the property management team so the property managers have more time to focus on their own business.
“We will have organic growth and also grow the rent roll through acquisition but along with this is a commitment to step up the perception of property management both from a public perspective and from property managers themselves,” she said.
“In our office, property management is a rewarding career and our managers are valuable assets; and whether it be in property management or sales, it is the quality of our onboarding that helps to retain great people.”
The Kinnanes have strong ties with their market, with Ms Kinnane born and bred in Mackay and Mr Kinnane having lived in the region since childhood.
They live on acreage with their family and are well known through community involvement.
“We are both on the P&F at St Mary’s School,” Ms Kinnane said.
“Dan is an AFL coach and associated with Pioneer Valley Lawn Bowl. Many locals also know him as regional manager with SunSuper since 2017.”
Ms Kinnane said they want RE/MAX Select to be known as “Mackay’s favourite real estate experience” because that describes the team – “friendly and personable as well as professional real estate experts”.
“We simply love this region, and it is a wonderful place to live and invest in, as the people who are still pouring in from ‘down south’ – interstate and Queensland- will attest to,” she said.
“We are still selling a lot of property in our first weekend on the market but keeping up sale stock supply is certainly an issue, and we are experiencing sub-one per cent vacancy rate.
“I can’t see things slowing. It is looking like a mining industry boom for Mackay circa 2024/25, plus local industry is expanding too.”
